Pregnancy Week: 14th Week. And we're having a Dragon Baby

Great fortune and wealth will be bestowed upon the baby who is born in the year of the Dragon.

A dragon baby is so popular because the Chinese considers the dragon a symbol of Honour, Authority, Fortune, Geniality, Dominance and Ambition. The dragon is also known as the Son of Heaven or Emperor. The Dragon is the mightiest of the signs.

and there is a big chance our baby no. #2 will be born on April. In fact I'm now aiming to for baby #2 to be born on April 13 2012, in the chen period believe that for the baby to have "four dragons" which is a rare destiny.

I'm on my 2nd term now 14 weeks and 5 days to be exact. At about 3.5 inches long, my peach-sized baby's little body and limber limbs are coordinated enough for loads of complicated motions.

Next few weeks ahead will be a busy week for us, after going back from Hong Kong, I am schedule for another ultrasound, hopefully by week 15 weeks we are able to find out baby #2 gender.

Weeks 16 - 18 are the first dates where the presence or lack of a penis and testicles can be clearly detected via ultrasound. (cross fingers - it's a girl)

The morning sickness is almost gone, and I definitely feel and look pregnant, but not yet an overstuffed-lumbering-mammoth woman. most of the time I got gas or some kind of bubbling weird bowel obstruction, but I know it's not me, it might actually be baby #2  shakin' her tiny booty!

Preparing for the Big ONE

Mason's Birthday is just around the corner, thus planning for his semi-small birthday party needs to be in order.

not much has been done so far, well for 1. I started shopping party things for his birthday (that's the fun part) and 2. have sent out the invites too! [well, Me and Dada send an e-invite since birthday card invitations was so 90's]

Here are the 2 e-invite, I try to make it look cool so by the time Mason is old enough to appreciate art work, he can say that his Meemai did a pretty good job.

3. I also created in Photoshop of course a Birthday Pattern for his Birthday Banner, I hope this is enough for a 3x4 ft = P500 Tarpaulin which I order in the Philippines with Desiree's help.

there's a long list yet to be checked but I'll enjoy the challenge hopefully mason's first birthday party will be a success. wish me luck (cross fingers and toes).

Hong Kong Bound

Yey I'm so excited! 8 more days to go before we head over to our first official Family Trip!.

This will be our second trip to Hong Kong {me and Dada} but for Mason and Baby#2 which is on the way it is the first. I know I'm pregnant but that is not an excuse not to have some R&R. Plus, it's both Dada and Mason's Birthday so we are celebrating it with a bang! The rip is focused more a child-centered trip though I will attempt to slip in some other activities - Shopping hello?!

I'm almost done packing things just a few extra bottles and milk and we are all set and ready to go!

Some quick Tips for Traveling in Hong Kong that I pick up in the internet.

  1. It is an unwritten rule in Hong Kong that one should stay on the right of escalator to make way for fast walkers.
  2. Octopus Card. Hong Kong’s super amazing product. We used it for our all transportation needs. Also widely accepted for purchases at participating shops.
  3. Buy Ocean Park tickets at Admiralty bus stop to avoid long queue at the main entrance.
  4. Pay attention to the weather forecast. You can have forecast for 7 days in advance. They are highly accurate. Bring an umbrella (or buy one) if it is rainy. You don’t want to mess around as the rain can last one whole day or two.
  5. Traveler adapter. for Charging the cameras and Phones.

Hong Kong Here we come. yey!

Our Future holds..

Big changes are on the horizon for this little family of mine. nothing earth-shattering, nothing life-threatening... but significant enough to change our everyday life as we've become comfortably accustomed to.

I'm so grateful for my amazing husband & best friend who I get to see these times through with. someone who likes to sit down, write down goals, & plan our future together. someone who makes these times exciting rather than scary, & sees change as an opportunity to make life better for our little family rather than worse. someone who refuses to see the grass as greener on the other side of the fence, but rather, someone who likes to make the most of everything we already have.

Dada I'm so glad we're in this together.♥

Pregnancy Week: 12th Week. Just plum cute!

I kept my pregnancy in a lock box so far to most of my friends and family members, but I think it's time for me to be shouting "Yes I'm pregnant".

Pregnancy Tickers

Things are changing fast. I'm reaching the home stretch of the first trimester (we know, finally!) at 12 weeks which means my hormones are started to tone things down a bit -- which makes me feel a little less emotional!

Baby #2 is almost done developing her body’s important systems and
parts, which means, it’s mostly about getting bigger and more mature from here on out.

Yesterday, we went to my OB for a monthly check-up and the doctor said that my sugar level is quite high and I need to be tested for glucose challenge screening test and glucose tolerance test which involves testing my blood-glucose levels to see how well my body process the sugar. Seriously, this are one of the tests in my life I don't want to fail. i hope everything is fine with me and my baby.

Thus, to be healthy and safe on the side I need to diet, drink plenty of water, exercise and take medications

here are my medications and vitamins:

On a lighter note, my baby is doing great!
my baby's the size of a plum!
Now that she's got pretty much all her parts, her main job is to keep on growing.

according to the bump.com our baby at 12 weeks:
  • Most of her critical systems are fully formed!
  • She's about to enter the growth and maturation stage, in which her organs and tissues will grow and develop rapidly.
  • She's now developing her reflexes -- if you poke her body, she'll likely move.
  • She's opening and closing her fingers and curling her toes, too.
  • Her brain is developing fast!

Happy Eleven

Its less than a month left until my baby turns one. I'm actually beyond excited. is that weird? Mason gets more & more fun everyday

Eleven month old Ryder is the best yet

This little boy is so silly. He is so playful & funny & does things just to make you laugh. his favorite game at the moment is "where's Mason?" in which he hides under the covers and whisks them away, & then giggles when you say "there you are!" yeah, it's peek-a-boo, & it's adorable.

He usually eats three meals of solids & will eat just about anything. if he hasn't made some growth improvement at his next check-up then I don't know what else to do. We are packing this kid full of food 24/7 but i think he has grown.

Here he is all growed up to eleven months.

Weight & Height: I seriously have no idea. I haven't weighed or measured Mason since his 6 month appointment. I actually don't think about it at all until it's time to write these updates. I'm curious where he's at, but we'll find out for sure next month when he goes for another check up with the doctor. Regardless - the kid is solid.

Mason loves music & bounces up & down to dance. his favorite word is "yeye" but he frequently says "papa/Dada" & "wawa baby" too. he throws the occasional tantrum when he doesn't get what he wants, but then again, who doesn't? he is super attached to his blanket names blue & loves snuggling with it & sticking it in his mouth. he initiates wrestling & loves to crawl & climb all over you.

What size clothes is he wearing: He still fits in a lot of his 6-12 month clothes, but they're getting pretty tight. On the other hand, a lot of the 12-18 month clothes we have for him are too big. I guess he's between sizes? One thing that definitely grew in the past month - his feet!

Milestones in the past month:
FIRST STEPS! - he's starting to make 2 to 3 steps by himself before stumbling down. He walks from object to object and can pretty much stand on his own.

Teeth! he has 2 on the bottom and 2 more on the top which we'll see soon.

Babbling.- Mason loves to babble and he has A LOT to say. He's putting together more and more syllables and chatting up a storm. When we talk he always listen and tries to be in the same conversation. when I ask him about things he respond, although I dont understand it very well, I'm good with how he can respond to us.

1 more month and we will be in our Hong Kong trip to celebrate both Mason and Dada's birthday. I'm really looking forward to this one, I'm so excited :)

Saying Goodbye to Steve...

This morning right before going to the Office, my husband greeted me with a sad news that Steve Jobs, pass away. This morning we all woke up to a world without Steve Jobs in it.

Here's to the crazy ones.
The misfits. The rebels. The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.
They're not fond of rules. And they have no respect for the status quo.
You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.
Because they change things.
They push the human race forward.
And while some see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world...
are the ones who do.

Goodbye Steve. And thank you for giving our generation Apple.

one of the quotes I love ♥
"If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle."~ Steve Jobs
