Tips for a Good Marriage

"Make him a King and he will make you a Queen"
This is one of so many quotes I live by. I always try to keep Dada happy since it creates fertile ground for him to become all he is meant to be. He is so simple, it takes only a little effort for me to keep him happy. I think God makes him that way since I'm the one who's complicated.

Marriage is tough and yet people say that we look as if it's not. So I listed down some of things we can share to anyone who is planning to get married or for those starting in the married life.

  1. Constantly remind each other off all the reasons why you love and married him/her. List them all and tell these things as often as you can. make it a regular habit.
  2. Always be affectionate. A gentle touch, a hug, a kiss on the cheek. This is one of those things that send signal to the heart and soul.
  3. Talk to one another more kindly than you talk to anyone else
  4. Remember that marriage is less about marrying the right person and more about becoming the right person
  5. Don't forget to laugh.
  6. She needs you to be her best friend. Everyday, talk to her and tell what you are thinking.
  7. He needs you to be his cheerleader. Let him know that He can take on the world.
  8. Find ways to say "I Love you" that don't involve sex
  9. Your kids come second, not first. - the marriage needs to be number 1. Your spouse was there before the kids and will be there after the kids move out. Work on the relationship first
  10. Never drift together. People on drift apart. if you want to grow closer, be intentional about it.
  11. Hold hands in public - It should always be obvious your in love . This sends a strong message to others including your children. It also make you feel good about each other
  12. Show enthusiasm with your spouse hobbies, crafts, or special interest projects.
  13. Look pretty for him. Keep you girlish figure. do everything you can do keep yours.
  14. Run errands on the weekend. Be together as much as possible. Find reasons to be together.
  15. Save money. Plan financial future together
  16. Spend time making and discussing future plan. These things build and promote security for both of you and it says you plan to be together 'til death do us part'.
  17. Get up and go to bed at the same time
  18. Send each other emails, texts, or other messages
  19. Dance
  20. Make out. Get physical without it leading to sex.
