My Toddler this Week: What a Whiner

One of the biggest child behavior problems is how to stop whining in children. Like fingernails on a chalkboard, whining is one of those sounds that instantly get your attention -- and jangle your nerves.

I think I am starting to have a Whiner.  He always wants to have his way and whines when he is unhappy about something or else he will cry (with tears, mind you) so we end up giving everything to him. Although we do not want this to happen as a cycle, but we can't help ourselves. What to do?!

I stumble upon this website where there are some Smart Strategies to Stop Whining in Children

1. Adjust the way you view whining.
2. Consider what may be triggering this behavior.
3. Call out the whining.
4. Make it clear that whining is not acceptable.
5. Don't let 'em see you sweat.
6. Do not give in.
7. Be consistent.

Here is one video where he is demanding to have milk and is growing impatiently if he doesnt get one right away. LOL. It's cute at first but I dont want him to be like this all the time, so I try imposing time out and consistently and lovingly convey the message to him that whining is not going to be tolerated in our house.

It was one of those toddler-on-the-floor-kicking-&-screaming kind of days... but I still love him to death so for now I can tolerate it.
